Are you/your products affiliated with any companies? TOP
No. Our items are NOT licensed products. They are, however, individually HANDCRAFTED items made from lawfully purchased, licensed fabric, merchandise and adornments. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or licensed by any of the characters, teams, organizations or companies shown in any manner. All trademarks are property of their respective owners.

Our legal/fair/reasonable use (as in the Fair Use doctrine) consists of one or two photos of the actual item we are describing.

You may also wish to refer to the First Sale doctrine ("The whole point of the First Sale doctrine is that once the copyright owner places a copyrighted item in the stream of commerce by selling it, he has exhausted his exclusive statutory right to control its distribution." -Justice Stevens, delivering an opinion for a unanimous Supreme Court in the case Quality King Distributors, Inc. v. What kind of experience do you have? What about customer service? TOP
All of our items are handcrafted and/or adorned by folks who have over a CENTURY of combined crafting experience! Our dedicated Web site launched in 2006, but we've been selling various items online for over 15 years, and we've participated in and hosted craft bazaars for decades.

Every one of our items is crafted/adorned/packaged in a spotless, smoke-free work area with extreme attention to detail, and most of all...love.

Not only do we take take an enormous amount of pride in our products, but we take customer service very seriously - from the initial contact all the way through to the product shipment. Do you take custom orders? TOP
We certainly try our best to fulfill every single request we receive, so please ask if you have something specific in mind. We regularly change/paint the hair and eye color on bride and groom figurines (for a small additional fee), add additional flowers in all sorts of colors, locate special themed adornments, etc. Try us - we love a challenge!




What kinds of things can you make or change? Can you pose the figurines? TOP
Since we do our own crafting, we'll certainly do our best to see how we can help you with your request. We can generally change everything from bride and groom hair color (for a small additional fee - generally $5.00 per "head," but please contact us first for details) to floral style/colors. Lots of customer friends have us add lace around the base of their humorous topper, or add a few wedding color-specific flowers.

Unfortunately, since we don't make our own figurines, we can't add/subtract hair (to make a bald groom, for example) or change the clothing style, pose, or skin/dress color on the figurine.

We're still looking for suitable non-Caucasian figurines, but we hope to locate some that will work for our purposes as soon as possible. So feel free to ask - we'll certainly do our best to fulfill every request we possibly can.
At the very least, if there's no way we can help you, we can possibly point you in the right direction...




Are your garter, ring pillow, flower girl basket, and guest book adornments EMBROIDERED? TOP
Absolutely not. As clearly noted in each individual item description, because we do adhere to all trademark/copyright laws, we only use lawfully-purchased, officially-licensed fabric to handcraft our garters, ring pillows, guest books, and flower girl baskets and their adornments. To do any custom embroidery work such as stitching of a logo or image would be a direct violation of trademark law. Again, we only use officially-licensed fabric and adornments for all of our items - as allowed by the First Sale Doctrine - we do NO embroidery work.





Do you have any AFRICAN-AMERICAN or other non-Caucasian cake topper bride and groom figurines? TOP
Unfortunately, right now we only have Caucasian figurines (unless there's a specific/single listing on our Web site). We simply haven't been able to find African-American and other non-Caucasian figurines that fit our needs in terms of size, and more importantly, quality. Since we don't do any ceramic work, we're somewhat limited in that regard - we have no way of changing skin color, hair style/length, or "posing" the figurines any differently. Yes, we've even tried to paint the skin color on the figurines, and that simply isn't an option. We are always looking, though...






Do your garters, ring pillows, flower girl baskets, and guest books come in any other colors besides white and ivory? TOP
No - we just have our white items, as noted in our detailed item listings, and also ivory (upon request... most of the time). Sorry about that! No colored garters or other items... just our basic white and ivory where noted. (Our little photo albums are more of a cream/ivory color, however - that's the only color available for those.) Our detailed listings always tell you what color each particular item is.







I'm looking for a specific item. Do you have it in stock? TOP
The best way to find a specific product is to use the "Search Site" box at the top right of our Web site. Simply type in the word(s) of the item you're looking for and then click on the pink "Go."

Our items are also listed in alphabetical order within each specific item category and subcategory.

But if you don't see what you're looking for, don't fret. There's a good chance we may have a finished item in stock and we simply haven't listed it yet. Otherwise, we have a large inventory of supplies and resources, and we'd be glad to try and create something specific for you.... so please don't hesitate to ask!








If an item is listed as out of stock, am I out of luck? TOP
Absolutely not! Chances are good that we have the components on-hand to create a nearly identical item that you see listed as out of stock. Or maybe we simply haven't gotten around to listing another one or updating our Web site inventory just yet. Please don't hesitate to contact us and let us know specifically what you're looking for - we'll be happy to help.




Where can I find more information about a product? TOP
In the navigation area on the left side of our Web site, click on the PURPLE main category link that corresponds with the particular item you're interested in. There you'll find a general overview and more detailed information about each product line that we carry at Fun Wedding Things.




Do you have a print catalog you can send me? TOP
Due to the near-daily changing nature of our inventory and items (and many one-of-a-kind creations since we do our own crafting), we don't have a print catalog available - it would be outdated almost immediately. We're adding new items all the time, so our Web site serves as our current catalog.





What about SHIPPING COST, LOCATIONS, OPTIONS, insurance, and sales tax? TOP
We choose to use USPS Priority Mail (always with Delivery Confirmation) almost exclusively for our items. We've found that buyers appreciate the quick delivery time (generally 2-3 days during "normal" mailing times of the year and barring any unforeseen delays) that Priority Mail offers.

Please understand that we have no control over how quickly the mail travels, of course. So we definitely suggest ordering as far in advance as possible. Weather or other delays do happen from time to time, but the vast majority of our boxes shipped via Priority Mail do indeed arrive in that 2-3-day time frame.

The only GUARANTEED delivery method (with a refund available if not delivered when noted) is USPS Express Mail... which is overnight delivery in most cases. We use boxes to ship every order, and we send you the Delivery Confirmation/shipping information as soon as your box is packed. But once your box leaves our hands, it's up to the USPS to hopefully deliver on time. Again, the vast majority of our shipments over the last 15-years-plus have indeed been on time.

We charge a flat-rate $4.85 Priority Mail shipping fee for ALL of our Fun Wedding Things items. We certainly don't believe in overpriced shipping - and you actually pay LESS for shipping than the Priority Mail cost, no matter what/how many items you purchase! We always combine shipping, so whether you purchase one or ten items, you always pay just our flat-rate $4.85 Priority Mail shipping fee.

Insurance on the more fragile cake toppers is on us - how's that for a great freebie service? But if you want insurance on any other item besides a large cake topper, you may add it at your cost - generally $1.35 for up to $50 worth of merchandise coverage.

Colorado residents (only) pay 6.7% sales tax on all purchases.

Overnight delivery (USPS Express Mail) is certainly available at the buyer's cost - please contact us with your ZIP code in advance for pricing. As a rule, Express Mail generally runs about $25.00 for overnight delivery, depending on your location. We require an advance payment of that $25.00 (again, please contact us for details), and any overage is immediately refunded once your shipping label is printed.

Please note that we only ship to United States addresses at this time.

(If you are outside the U.S., what many of our customer friends do is have us ship to a friend or relative of theirs in the States, or to a postal/package receiving-type business. We'll gladly ship to any U.S. address.)




What payment methods do you accept? TOP
We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover credit cards... in addition to PayPal payments, cashier's checks, and money orders via our secure online shopping cart. Sorry, no personal checks. (With cashier's checks and money orders, we ship your item once we receive your payment, of course.)

Fun Wedding Things will never see, nor will we have access to any of your credit card/payment information. Everything is handled safely and securely by our online shopping cart system.

Colorado residents (only) pay 6.7% sales tax on all purchases.





How do I pay with a cashier's check/money order? TOP
Simply click on the pink "order" button below the item you wish to purchase - our easy-to-use Web site shopping cart will walk you through everything. You'll also receive a follow-up e-mail from us with more payment details.

Unfortunately, we do not offer any type of C.O.D. service, so just like with any business, once we receive your cashier's check/money order payment, we'll ship your item.




Do you have a RETURN POLICY? What about damage? TOP
Unfortunately, due to the custom and general nature of our items, we can't accept any returns. We individually craft each item ordered, and we thoroughly describe the size and composition of each item in the individual item listings on our Web site. We're also always here to answer any questions you may have prior to your purchase.

In the past, we have indeed had customer friends elope, change wedding themes, pry adornments off of our cake toppers (yes, really!), use the toppers on their cake, wear the garters or simply change their minds, and then request a refund upon return of their item. (There are health/sanitary issues with garter and even cake topper returns, of course - state and federal laws actually mandate a no-return policy in regard to personal/intimate-type apparel such as garters, for instance.) We're very sorry, but we hope you can understand our side of things - that's why we finally had to institute a no-return policy. Therefore, returns have to/will be immediately refused and returned to sender.

(We have heard from some customer friends in the past who had wedding themes change/had their weddings cancelled, and they reportedly had very good luck selling their items to local bridal shops/bakeries... and/or on Craigslist/eBay. So there are several options if things change and you no longer need your items...)

We're quite confident you'll be pleased with the materials and craftsmanship. We always thoroughly describe our items, so please read those individual descriptions on our Web site very carefully. And please don't hesitate to ask any questions - that's what we're here for. You may also want to read some of the unsolicited testimonials on our "Customer Comments and Testimonials" pages (link located on the left side of our Web site underneath the large "Information" heading) to see what our customer friends have to say about us.


However, if you're not happy with your purchase, we'll certainly work with you as much as possible to see how we can turn your frown upside down! We have no problem with that at all, because we take great pride in our items, as well as our valued customer friends. Customer service is always #1 with us.


In the rare event of catastrophic breakage, please save ALL packing materials, boxes, etc. and contact us immediately. We insure all of our large cake toppers, so we'll give you the insurance number in order for you to file the claim with the shipping/postal service. You'll most likely have to show the damage and packaging to said shipping/postal service, and you'll receive the insurance claim amount directly from the shipping/postal service.

We have chosen our cake topper (and other) components and adornments extremely carefully over the years, very much based upon their quality and "sturdiness." So short of a shipping box being backed over by a truck, the chance of true breakage during even the roughest shipping handling is almost non-existent. (We think you'll find we're second-to-none in the way we pack all of our items, as well!)


However, every once in a blue moon, an adornment may come "unattached" during shipment - or even in the future if little hands start reaching for it. (As much as we'd love to hand-deliver all of our items, we just can't!) : ) A flower may pop off the base of a topper, for example. 99.9% of the time, this is a very simple fix with just a drop or two of glue - please refer to the informative e-mail you received from us following your purchase. But if you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us. Customer service and satisfaction is our #1 priority, and we'll certainly work with you to get everything back to the condition it was in when it left us!






How will my item be packaged? TOP
We take great pride in our packing! For example, if you're getting a cake topper, we tissue-wrap around the most fragile parts of the topper, bubble-wrap that area, bubble-wrap the entire topper, tissue-wrap again, place it in our free plastic display box, use packing peanuts to fill that box - and that's just the "inside" box! We add even more packing around the outside of that box to make sure your topper doesn't move around during shipping.

EVERY item purchased from FunWeddingThings.com will ship in a BOX. Even an individual garter. Over the years, we've found that boxes simply fare far better than envelopes, for example, during the shipping process. A box also allows us to wrap and package your item in the manner we feel it should be.

No matter what you purchase from Fun Wedding Things, rest assured that we will wrap/package your item carefully, professionally, and securely.




What about the return address on the box? I want this to be a surprise! TOP
Since many of our customer friends do indeed purchase their item as a gift or a surprise, we use our business name of "Couch Potato Crafts" as the return address name on the shipping label. There's no mention of wedding-related items or our FunWeddingThings.com Web site anywhere on the outside of the box. (We're sneaky that way!) So our box actually looks like it's a shipment from a craft-related business - the surprise won't be spoiled at all!




HOW SOON will I receive my order? TOP
We pride ourselves on having the fastest ordering/crafting/shipping process in the business! We ship (via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation) five days a week - sometimes six - and always within a day or two of your order/payment. If you order early enough in the day, depending on our crafting workload, there's a chance your box may go out the very next morning, in fact! Basically, we always try to craft and ship within a day or two of purchase. Then Priority Mail takes 2-3 days for delivery, depending on your location.

Our personalized e-mail which you'll receive shortly after purchasing your item will include much more information and shipping time estimates.





How will I know when my box was shipped? How can I track it? TOP
After each purchase, we send a thank you/informational e-mail to you (from a Comcast.net e-mail address) - it'll be titled something like, "Fun Wedding Things Web site purchase info." - with product and estimated shipping information.

Then when your shipping label is printed, we'll send an additional e-mail to you with those details - that e-mail also comes from our Comcast.net e-mail address, and it will be titled something to the effect of, "Fun Wedding Things shipping info." So you're informed every step of the way.

As noted, we ship each order via USPS Priority Mail, with Delivery Confirmation. Your DC number will be included in your shipping information e-mail, so you can go to USPS.com and type in your DC number for location updates. But please remember that Delivery Confirmation is not like UPS or FedEx tracking, in that a scan is NOT required every step of the way. You also may not see any detailed information until your box gets quite near your house. The only scan required by the USPS with Delivery Confirmation is during the actual delivery of the box. That said, you may see some scans along the way - it all depends on how each post office handles things. We've found that as a box gets closer to its destination, the nearest post office will usually do a scan or two, but again, it all depends on local protocol.







I don't want any of my personal information shared, nor do I want to be on any mailing list. Will my information be kept confidential? TOP
Absolutely. We're a small, family-run business - not a big, corporate one. We have no mailing list, and the only contact you will receive from us is a thank you/informational e-mail about your purchase, and then the shipping information/confirmation e-mail.

As noted previously, all purchases are handled by our Web site's secure, integrated shopping cart. We don't see your credit card information at all, and we only need your name and address so we know where to send your box.     ; )  



  

Why do you need my e-mail address and phone number? TOP
You'll receive a receipt via e-mail immediately after placing your order. We don't put any receipts in our shipments, because so many of the orders are meant as gifts or surprises (and also because you receive that e-mail receipt right away).

We then also confirm your order, give you more information about it, and send a shipping estimate in one follow-up e-mail that you will receive the same day you make your purchase.

Finally, once your shipping label is completed, we e-mail you that information (which includes the Delivery Confirmation number), as well.

We never use your e-mail address after that point, and the only reason we request a phone number is if your e-mail address is incorrect/bounces back to us - we'd have to contact you in that instance. Again, as noted in the question/answer above, we don't use/distribute any of your information at all.




Do you take PHONE orders? Why don't you have a telephone number on your Web site? TOP
The entire purchasing/payment/inventory system is handled so flawlessly by our secure integrated shopping cart and by our secure online payment processor, that we could never top it by taking phone orders. This way, we never see your credit card information, either! Everything is handled safely and securely for us and for you, our customer friends.

Plus, you're then able to shop 24/7, at your leisure. We're also able to send our customers informational/question response/purchase confirmation e-mails 24/7, too - this is ideal for us, because we do work late night/early morning/weekend hours.

So since we are an Internet business, everything is handled via our Web site and e-mail, but with our Fun Wedding Things "personal touch," of course - we're certainly not a faceless online company! You'll find that to be true throughout your entire purchasing process.

We actually had our phone number listed on our Web site until very recently, but endless Internet/search engine telemarketing calls took us away from our crafting, so we chose to remove it. There was really no need for it anyway, since we are indeed a Web-based business and we do/can correspond with our customer friends 24/7 via e-mail. It's also much easier than playing "phone tag" - both parties are able to respond via e-mail at their convenience. (So now it's nice and quiet here, and we can concentrate on our crafting and our customers again! Ha!)




Is your Web site secure? TOP
Very much so. As noted above, your purchase will be processed flawlessly by our secure integrated shopping cart and our secure online payment processor. We never see your credit card information at all - everything is handled in a secure manner.

Our GoDaddy and Thawte security/verification certificates are on display at the bottom left of our Web site, for anyone interested in those. In addition, the integrated eCommerce shopping cart system we use on our Web site provides its own SSL connection when transferring sensitive data.




How do I place an order on your Web site? TOP
Just click on the pink "order" button at the bottom of the item page you're looking at. Our secure Web site will walk you through the entire process. It's quick and painless, trust us!





I just placed an order, but I didn't get an immediate e-mail receipt. Why? TOP
Every order placed correctly with a working e-mail address will receive a near-immediate e-mail receipt. If you didn't receive one, it's a good sign that the e-mail address you used on the order form is incorrect, or that your "in box" is full. Please let us know if you didn't receive your receipt (check your spam filter first, as well) and give us a working e-mail address, and we'll forward your receipt and all of our follow-up information right away.


How do I ask you a question? TOP
Simply click on the "Contact Us" link, type in your question (don't forget to include your correct e-mail address!), and click on the link below the question box to send away. All questions will be answered same-day - generally within a matter of hours (though usually quite a bit sooner!).






How do I let you know about TEAM RIVALRY information, IVORY garter or other special requests? TOP
To let us know about team rivalry information, ivory color requests, other special requests, etc., when you start the purchasing process, you'll see a message box titled "Additional requests/info." on the address collection page (right below where you'll put your e-mail address). Simply type your information/requests there, and we'll take care of everything for you.
